Skincare Before Your Wedding

So you are getting married, now what? There are so many things to plan... We get so caught up in life that we forget the basic things we need to take care of to look our best on wedding day. SKIN CARE! Skin care is imperative before your big day to ensure that you have a healthy glow. Exposure to the sun and other natural elements as well as stress can wreak havoc on our skin. We want  to prevent this as much as possible.  There are 5 basic steps to skin care....

1.  CLEANSE-  It is very important to cleanse your skin twice a day, once in the morning, and especially at night time to remove make-up and other impurities that build up on our skin throughout the day.  You want to cleanse your face in an upward and outward motion, when you cleanse in this way, you are going with the natural grain of you skin to lift your face. After you cleanse as you dry your face you also want to dry in an upward and outward motion, this prevents wrinkles.

2. EXFOLIATE- Exfoliation is an important part of skin care because it removes the old, dry, dead skin cells that a normal cleanser may not. You need to exfoliate 1-2 times a week. Exfoliation also helps your skin to absorb the nutrients, such as a moisturizer,  better.

3. TONE-  Using a toner will remove excess residue from you skin as well as freshen it. Toning also helps to replace moisture that was lost during  cleansing/exfoliating.

4. MOISTURIZE- Even if your skin tends to be oily moisturizing is still very important. There are many moisturizers available for different skin types. Moisturizer helps your skin to stay hydrated and healthy looking. Dry skin leads to premature aging, this is why this step is imperative.

5. PROTECT- So we use sunscreen when we go the the beach, the lake, or are outside for a long period of time. But, what about our every day exposure to the sun and other elements while we are partaking in are everyday activities such as driving to work or even walking in the grocery store. Protecting your skin with an SPF is very important. There are even moisturizers that have SPF in them so this step is pretty simple if you use a product such a BB Cream or a day cream with SPF.

Hope this helps all brides prepare for your Big Day!! :)
